THE rings...

I guess Kristin & Drew really ARE going to tie the knot. The two of them have left me alone this weekend & headed up to Memphis to buy the wedding rings. Hopefully they had time to stop by the Pottery Barn outlet & pick me up somethings. I SO love that store. And Williams-Sonoma, World Market, the list goes on!

Their big purchases bring back some memories from last year. It was late March of last year that I got the late night phone call from Drew with news of an engagement in the planning. He was so cute... and awkward. When i picked up the phone, I just KNEW what the topic of conversation would be. He was so nervous! I thought it was so very sweet that he wanted to make their engagement so very special to Kristin, and I think it turned out absolutely perfect. To read about their engagement story you can check out their knot page.

What Kristin doesn't remember about the engagement day was Drew's excitement as he got ready to head down to Perdido. He stopped by work to show me the GORGEOUS ring and catch me up-to-date with the plans. He had a picnic packed with champagne, linen, table & chairs, candles... the works. The weather was miserable on his way down, and the traffic was horrible since it was the July 4th weekend. Somehow, though, the skies cleared and he made it in time to set up for a sunset proposal on the beach. Although it wasn't a complete surprise due to my & Gretchen's texting- I think it still took her by surprise. I don't think anyone could ask for a a better proposal.

So- back to the wedding ring purchases. To celebrate one step closer to the wedding, here's some of my favorite pics of the two of them! I bet Kristin doesn't even remember some of these...

One Fine Day

So Court and I are trying out this blog thing. I had mentioned to her a few days ago that I thought it would be fun to do a blog. I think it caught her a little off-guard since I'm not really much of a computer person. Anyways, she started one for us today and to be honest it kind of made my day. Today actually started out pretty terrible. I sat in stand-still traffic for over an hour this morning, was late for a meeting and then to top things off we had a blackout at work just a I was trying to finish up a project. Yuck! But no worries, I got home, ate some chocolate, chatted with Court and read her first blog post. Okay, okay so maybe that doesn't sound too exciting but sometimes it's little things like those that can make a bad day so much better!

numero uno

So, Kristin didn't have to push too hard to talk me into making a blog. The sad part... she'll be moving out in a little more than a month & I have a feeling that she won't keep up with it! (yes- I said it, Kris). You'll be busy playing wife in that beautiful new house of yours (if you can talk Drew into waiting until you move in to start the decorating)! I seriously have no idea what I'm going to do when she moves out. The little time that we get to spend together has been so much fun. I've heard close friends shouldn't live together. However, I think her moving in for awhile has been nothing but great.

Tomorrow starts the beginning of my fabulous "five-on." In other words- I'll be at work from 1100-2330 from now until Tuesday night. Maybe some interesting stories will emerge. You never know.

So, here's to the beginning of what I hope to be a semi-interesting glance into our lives. Kristin's will be the more interesting aspect... I assure you of that.
